VR Group Comments

So here we are. The last video before the presentation.

We decided that instead of writing about what we thought of the whole experience that we would record it. No edits. Straight talk from the heart and mind.

Let me just say:

I love my group. I am so very happy to work with a wonderful bunch of individuals when at times we thought ‘what the heck did we get ourselves into?’ or ‘man, what can we come up with?’ or ‘is THIS the presentation?’ we banded together, like a little family; brothers and sister, and went with our idea and realized it to it’s fullest potential to the best of our abilities with the resources and knowledge that we had. Guys I love you for that, and I am so very proud to be in the same program, class and fellowship with you. Our team, group, friend members:  Dr. Alexander, Dr. Banis, Dr. Ariganello, Dr. Ribeiro, Dr. Yamaguchi.

Discussed how we present our work

We had a meeting on Friday Nov 18th 2011. Every member of the club attended and discussed how we present our work. We came up an idea making the interactive flash interface to go through our virtual reality world. There was one member who was crazy about the moon.. are we doing with it? we will see.

We did it!

After filming Chris and Jack plugging away at this project for the past few days it was nice to see them not only getting Cameraman to work in sync with the laptop, but to see it live through the camera! I had a chance to try it out – it was pretty amazing. I guess virtual reality’s not so far off after all.

Trials and Tribulations of A/V Experimenation

Week 2 in the trenches!

As you can see, we approached many retail establishments and presented our hardware needs in order to build our VR prototype. Even though we encountered some nice folks that were willing to help, we were unsuccessful with coming up with a solution.

Days were flying by, and our group was becoming wary of having to change up our plan to build the best VR prototype Sheridan College has ever encountered…. We would not take NO for an answer… We will prevail!

Day 1 1/2 – Physical Experiment

A lot of frustration took place once we decided on the idea. We did not know how to connect the camera to the cell phone and the 3D program on computer. Jack and Chris experimented with various mediums but nothing seemed to work the way we wanted it.

First Try

This is our first try. Chris and Jack are trying to hook up the camera to the app. There is a synch issue.
